High Powered Coupler in Crossguide Configuration -

To provide the convenience of the crossguide but the power handling of a branchguide, a compact 20dB coupler has been developed. Measurements are underway to determine the couplers actual power handling capability
but predictions show the coupler to be able to handle the maximum peak power that can be coupled through the main arm with no breakdown occurring (20kW peak for WG22).
Two versions of the coupler are available. The first narrow band fits into the absolute minimum of space. Its performance has been optimised for the band 33 to 38GHz but other frequency bands can be provided upon
request. A slightly longer version covers a 30% bandwidth and offers higher directivity.
