Series 540 Terminations consist of a length of uniformly
sized waveguide. Within the waveguide is a close fit sliding
load, which moves in a precisely controlled manner. It is
desirable to use a sliding termination when measuring low
VSWR values. The effect of sliding the termination enables
the user to deduce low VSWR values to a greater accuracy than
that achieved by a fixed termination technique.
Series100 Medium Power Terminations have a maximum
VSWR of 1.15 :1 with the ability to absorb higher RF energy
levels than other models in the Flann termination range. Cooling
fins are mounted on the external waveguide surfaces to dissipate
efficiently the absorbed RF energy. The power level stated
is for natural cooling and may be increased if forced cooling
Series 040 Terminations have a very low VSWR which
makes them eminently suitable for use in VSWR measurements.

In order to fulfil the requirement for a stable, robust,
precision coaxial termination at higher frequencies Flann
have developed their own propriety design. The floating inner
conductor enables the highest performance possible yet reliable
connection. Applications include cable test, component test
and network analyser calibration. Flann can supply both male
and female connector types.
Units in the 2.92mm and 2.4mm format are also available.
